Mr. Reichert was born in Battle Creek, Michigan, and attended Battle Creek Academy for 12 years. Following his graduation from Andrews University, he taught US and World History, Government and Contemporary Issues at Adelphian Academy for four years before coming to Great Lakes Adventist Academy in 1987. If you were to glance into his classroom, you would see him still bringing history to life with his dynamic presentations! Mr. Reichert has twice been the recipient of the Alma McKibben award. Through this award he has done one sabbatical on the Civil War and another on the Land of Lincoln. Mr. Reichert enjoys music, golf, sports and historical films. He especially enjoys time with his family and with God. He likes to travel and has been to 12 Carribean Islands and several European countries. Mr. Reichert is married to Hilda Reichert and they have two children, Troy (GLAA ’06), a dentist working in Michigan, and Jordan (GLAA ’08), a history and religion teacher at Indiana Academy. Mr. Reichert’s greatest goal in teaching is to reflect Christ so students can be drawn to make decisions to follow Him.
