Mr. Doug Peterson began teaching Geometry at Great Lakes Adventist Academy in August of 2014. After graduating from La Sierra University with degrees in P.E. and Religion, he spent his next 12 years doing deans work while obtaining his Masters in Secondary School Administration. A two-year stint as principal of a 400-student mission school on the island of Pohnpei preceded his coming to the Cedar Lake, Michigan, area. He initially worked at GLAA as Vice Principal, but then served as upper grades teacher/principal at Cedar Lake Elementary for 23 years. Mr. Peterson loves to golf and rebuild wrecked cars. He and his wife, Cindy, have two children: Greg (GLAA ‘99) and Janelle (GLAA ‘01). Mr. Peterson’s love for the Lord and his passion for influencing young people to make good decisions that lead to eternal life is what keeps him involved in academy work.
