Loralee Mendez began teaching American Literature at GLAA in August of 2014. Born in Brazil, she grew up in Kansas and Nebraska and went to Union College. She taught for several years in China and came back to Andrews University to get her master’s degree and further her work in education. While at Andrews University, she taught classes there and at a local community college. One of the best things she enjoys about teaching at GLAA is being able to make Christ tangible in the everyday life of her family and students.  When not teaching, she enjoys reading, traveling, and her family. Her husband (Gabriel Mendez) teaches the upper grades at Cedar Lake Elementary school. They have two daughters.
